How do you start your day?

Wake up. Let my yellow lab (Walter) out and feed him. Feed myself. Shower myself. Kiss my girlfriend. Hit Starbucks and head to the studio.

What quotation influenced your life?

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” –Buddha

How did you start your career?

I moved to Nashville, TN from Tempe, AZ when i was 21 years old to start a band with my brother and sister, The Harters. I actually left with less than a semester left to graduate business school. Oops. We got a record deal and toured the country for 6 six years or so. After the band stopped playing together, I decided to combine my love for creating music and drive to for entrepreneurship and I just started going. Creating and growing.

What was a defining moment of your life?

A moment I often think about is my decision to leave San Diego when i was 19. I was going to school at San Diego State University and after one year I decided to move back home to Arizona. At the time I was so confused about this desire to leave. I loved San Diego. I had good friends there and it wasn’t that I was home sick but for some reason I felt inside that I was supposed to go back. So I did. And in hindsight, that decision completely changed the course of my life. It was a fork in the road that led me and much of my family to Nashville.

How did you pick your career?

Well, music picked me… but I didn’t really pick a career. I just keep following the things that inspire me and make me excited.

What inspires you daily?

Progress. In business and in music it can feel like you are constantly working, building and waiting. But when I get to certain points, when I can turn around and see what I have done… A finished track or a new milestone in business. It reinvigorates my drive for the next step.

What was the hardest day of your life?

Not sure I can say exactly the hardest. There’s been a few for sure. But one of the hardest days of my life would have to be the day we disbanded our family band. Endings are hard. But they are especially hard with music, family and business all connected.

How do you pass through stressful situations?

I try and face things head on. Then i just keep moving. Then I probably have a drink.

What is the best book that you have ever read?

The Shack

Favourite Movie?

Shawshank Redemption

Best advice you would give someone?

Don’t take yourself too seriously

What advice would you give your younger self?

Follow what makes you inspired. It took me longer than it should have to figure that out.
